How to move Rapture and DimPro content? OSX

I recently picked up both Rapture and DimPro on the $20 deal.  Kind of a no brainer.  How can I relocate the content folders to a different drive?  I'm on OSX.  The program seems to be hard coded to look in /Library/Audio/Plug-ins/ for the content folder.  Anyway know how we can do it?

Not owning a Mac so I cannot say for sure this will work. Sometimes in Windows to avoid messing with the registry I resort to links (actually junctions in Windows jargon) to move data around. I know Unix has the same capability so a Mac should too, right?

yep.  I tried sym links and it actually does work, however if you try to run any of the cakewalk installers or expansion pack installers again later, it gets confused when it sees a sym link and asks you if you want to delete the old Rapture Content folder and replace it with the new one in the installer.

So the actual plugin seems ok with the sym link, their installers are not.

Yeah, there are problems with the installers in Windows too with relocated libs. Fortunately, Windows junctions are pretty good at faking out the installers for most things. Might be easiest to drop the links before running an installer. It is pretty easy to integrate stuff into the multisample directories. They are the only part of the DimPro/Rapture synths that take up appreciable amounts of space. Maybe someone with more Mac savvy will chip in.

hmm, i can try to use a sym link on just the multisamples dir.  That might be ok with the installer.

nope, sym linking the multisamples dir confuses the installer also.  what a PITA.

    What about using mount points?

might work, but I'm just gonna take some notes, get it installed and forget about it.  Creating mount points is too complex.

Assuming it is similar to Dimension Pro, you'll need to move the content then update the plist file.  For Dimension Pro the plist file is said to live at "/Library/Preferences/com.cakewalk.com.Dimension Pro.plist" and it has parameter strings named "Contents Folder" and "Multisamples Folder".  So see if you can locate something similar for Rapture ( perhaps "/Library/Preferences/com.cakewalk.com.Rapture.plist" ?) and update it to point at the location where you want to move the content, then copy the content to said location.
