Re-installed Guitar Rig now have serial number issues

I had to reinstall GR4 because it wouldn't find it's own instruments/presets. I'd had the problem in GR3 so I thought I could fix it. I couldn't, so I reinstalled just GR4 from X1 dvd. In the end it still won't find it's presets but now X1 won't accept the registration number it prompts me for in the start screen. At this point I'm not interested in resolving GR issue because I won't be using it but if anyone has any idea how to resolve the Sonar serial number problem I'd be grateful for any suggestions. I'd read something about correcting the issue in the registry but it had no details about how to do it.

The Guitar Rig serial number has to be entered in The Native Instruments Service centre. it has nothing to do with SONAR.

Native Instrument programs need to be run in stand alone mode first before being run as plugins within a host program like SONAR.

You also need to run it as Administrator even if your login has Admin privileges within Windows.

Thanks Mike. I had a longer and more detailed description of what happened but forum software lost it so I just put the basics in the post above. The guitar rig registration process went fine. I also ran GR in stand alone first. My biggest problem now is the serial number listed when I open X1 is from X1 and not from Expanded yet I have expanded installed. So when I give it either registration code, it rejects it.

I called tech support and they resolved the problem in short order. The serial number for Expanded was changed in X1 when I opened the Sonar X1 dvd to install GR. They suggested I change the serial number in the registry to Expanded. For those that don't know how to do it, like me, here's the procedure. In Run type' regedit' go to H key local machines/Software/Cakewalk music software/Sonar Producer/ and highlight the X1 folder and the serial number can be changed....GR4 needed an update. The presets load now.
