Restore VST Plugins after Clean Install of Windows 7?

I did a clean install to upgrade from VISTA to Windows 7 and reinstalled Sonar and then moved my old VST plugins (from windows.old) to the new systems/program files/Cakewalk/vstplugins folder. Most of these vstplugins have their own subfolders and when I scan I can see that Sonar is seeing them but when I go to the menu in Sonar for audio fx I only see vstplugins that have their .dll's in the vstplugin folder, none from the subfolders. Any thoughts on how to get it to see all the plugins? Thx, Mike F. www.outspakethebrave.com A different kind of band. A different kind of music. A different kind of mission.

    We need more information.

Which versions of Vista & Win 7 are involved here, 32 bit or 64 bit?

Never tried to copy my VST folder then pasted back in after a reinstall. I am just gonna take a stab and suggest you go into Manage Layouts to see if you have to add them to your plug-in menu.

    Kind regards,

Ok, any particular reason why you've only installed the 32 bit version? 64 bit is extremely stable and will allow you to access up to 256Gb of RAM.

With 32 bit you're limited to about 3.25Gb and for many people, myself included, this simply isn't enough.

This doesn't address your plugin issue which like the other guys have said, you have to make sure the paths in Plugin Manager are the ones where your vst's actually reside
