No USB Drivers

I purchased an Allen & Heath ZED -14 mixer with USB capability and packaged with it is Sonar X1 LE. I am running Vista and I already have Sonar Producer 8.5 installed and I also have an ECHO Audio Fire 8 external sound card installed. After installing Sonar X1 LE and plugging in the USB cable I noticed that the computer recognized the USB connection to the ZED-14 mixer and loaded the appropriate USB audio Codec successfully. However, when I went into Sonar X1 LE under edit , preferences, drivers.... the list of drivers included all my echo drivers but no USB audio Codec.
I then checked my Sonar Producer 8.5 driver list and again, no USB audio Codec. It is my understanding the the driver in question should have just been added to the driver list, allowing me to select it along with the already selected ECHO Audiofire drivers. I also checked under control panel, sound, playback and record, and found the USB audio Codec loaded under playback and record. Why is both Sonar Producer 8.5 and Sonar X1 LE not recognizing these codecs? Without them I cannot use the USB interface, which was the biggest selling point for buying the ZED-14.

It is probably due to the driver mode you are using, the setting is in Edit > Preferences > Audio > Playback and Recording

You might want to check A&H's web site for the latest drivers for the -14.
You might also be interested to know that it can only send a stereo signal to the software.

Some vendors are open with their USB protocols and help with the creation of Linux drivers .You do not need to install a USB driver . To start developing with your device also read Using Hardware .
