Band Pass Filter EQ

Hi All

I just downloaded a tutorial from Groove 3 entitled "EQ Explained" (very good vid by the way), and it has a section on "Band Pass Filter Eq's.
I navigated through the different EQ"s that come with Sonar X2 and didn't see any EQ of that type.

Does anyone know if there's an EQ provided by Cakewalk that responds like this type of EQ?

Thanks

Harpo

Can't you achieve the same result with a HPF and LPF. It would be nice to have a PC module with just those two filters (and maybe a BPF too) in addition to the QuadCurve (and/or allow more that one instance of QuadCurve in the PC).

Well a Parametric EQ is the same as a band pass EQ ,with the exception that the parametric EQ has a 3td knob or controller and this knob controls the width of the filter.

A band pass filter will keep the specified frequencies in its specified area. So you can achieve a band pass EQ with a parametric EQ.

Sonitus:fx Wahwah in Manual mode.  Personally, I prefer the control over slopes with the HP / LP approach (or use 3rd party plugs).

You can get a bandpass filter on the Sonitus EQ. Just set any two adjacent bands as a HPF and a LPF, then "lasso" the two nodes with the mouse button held down. Those two nodes then become linked and you can move them around as one.
