If you have Sonar, do you need a loop pedal?

I am referring to those loop pedals used with guitars.

I have been watching videos of people using these pedals to great affect. It seems like a great way to get ideas out quickly. But Sonar can do this but just not as easy/quickly? Or is it that easy?

Thanks

I tend towards a mixture of both really. I can actually 'paint' the loop(s) up on some tracks and then use the loop pedal as well...try playing around with it...see what you can come up with!!
