It's hard to make "and easy to spend..." The Taylor sounds good but I can't hear it well, not saying it's not sitting well in the mix because to me it is.. I don't hear any low mids from it thought? It's tricky to use two condensers and not get comb filtering. How did you have them positioned? Did you use any tools to help with the dual condenser input to help prevent the filtering? If so, please elaborate.

Well, there are a few options, there's a trick in recording wi/2 condensers in different positions. I don't do it for that reason. I use a figure 8 positioned w/my guitar below the 8 for the side, with a condenser just below it pointed directly at the o hole. The figure 8 track is recorded in stereo. When you're done you have two tracks. You take the fig 8 track and clone it, pan 1 hard left, the other hard right, and one of them you invert phase on, this gives you a true mid/side recording. And you can control which track is left and which is right as it will probably be naturally to one side or the other.
 
And send all three tracks to the acoustic bus where you compress, excite, eq, etc. put your verb send there too (on the bus) and send the bus to the master. 

I know it isn't country, but I could not help but think about Jerry Reed playing and singing "I got the shaft".... especially when you hit that twin picking in there.

Well one thing you can do is invert the phase on one of the tracks? That "may" help. It's tricky recording a guitar w/two mics. I'm not saying you did not get a good sound here, just trying to point out the potential pitfalls. What you want to avoid is getting two S's (on their side) where they don't quite line up? That's where you'll get the comb filtering I spoke of, potential phasing, and frequency cancellation. So by inverting the phase on one track, you "flip the S?" There are gear heads here who understand it much better than do I. And I don't mean to misrepresent my ahem "expertise?" as an engineer LOL! Ex spurt is more like it.

Really great bit of tunage! I like all your stuff. You got that 70s Firefall, Alan Parsons vibe but it still sounds different.

Terry - Thanks so much for the nod on the lyrics.  Reverb is something I've been fighting all my life.  I try to use less, but it's a struggle.
 
Lynn - Glad you like the lyrics.  I just was working on a new effort and I recorded the Taylor through my amp and that is a pretty good sound for flat picking.  Thank you!
