    Voodoo donunts in Portland.  Maybe not as tasty as crispy creme here in the south, but they certainly get top grade for their variety and kinkiness of donuts.  Since I FB'ed 'em I knew yesterday is was Donut Day.

    The story I heard was that the Salvation Army started the holiday during WW-II to recognize the women who were part of the war effort.

    Went to our local donut shop (they make a mean apple fritter) at about 8:15PM on Friday night (they are open until 11:30PM).
     
    Guess what???!!????
     
    No guess........
     
     
    They had almost zero donuts (and they are usually well stocked at the time of night). And what they had were scrapping the bottom of the barrel of what I call donuts. Jimmies or coconut topping on plain a$$ed donuts.
     
    So sad.
