piano roll view help needed
I am editing some drums, using midi loops and then changing them as needed. Some of the midi notes are green in piano roll view. What does that mean? They are much quieter and I delete them and draw a new note and the new note is also green. I can't fifure out what is happening. I have used piano roll view for the last 1 1/2 years and have never seen this. I am stumped. HELP!!! :)

Do you have more than one midi track selected ? These could be notes from another track or maybe from a muted clip ?

What happens if you adjust the velocity? Does the colour change?

the color does not seem to be tied to the velocity (in this case), cuz if I draw in a note it has the same velocity as the note next to it. Its like I get stuck in green mode for a while. Every note I draw is green and even though it has a high velocity, they don't sound the same as the other normal black notes. so I am not sure what is up.

The defaut note color (=foreground clip color) in X2 isn't black. Each track is supposed to have a different color so that the user can easily identity which track he's editing when displaying multiple tracks in PRV.
I suggest you first enlarge the clip(s) in TV and check in what color the notes are displayed. If thy are still green, try changing the foreground color in Clip Inspector in the Inspector pane.

That's worthwhile checking... when zoomed out the notes may look black, particularly if the velocities are high enough. But as Jlien X said, unless the MIDI clip color is actually black the notes will not be. Try zooming in until you can see fairly large "blocks" representing each note.
