Lucy
Lucy got a make over this last weekend. Cream hardware and gold speed knobs.

Yep, she's looking mighty fine. The cream and gold seem to show off the transparent red more.

Hey Spacey, Lucy used to have all black plastic. I found this older picture of her before the make over. She looked good either way, but the cream is nice for a change up. I took the newest photo's in the sun light. It is really hard to get the nice striped wood grain to photograph unless you can get good light on the body. Then, you have all the reflections of the clear coat to deal with. Lucy is a Studio Premium Plus that I traded an American Deluxe Strat for 7 years ago.

Both look very good to me Mike. I do like the balance with the headstock of the black.

Hmm... That just might be the color of my new custom (the one that's been being built for over five years now - lol). I tried my best to add color to the top in PhotoShop, but really couldn't emulate the staining process that puts black on first then sands it off to add detail so it comes out a little too bright. Hope you don't mind, but I'm going to keep a copy of your guitar picture as a color example! Here's my PhotoShop effort (adding red to the top), add some darker accents and I think it's close to your color:

No problem Craig. Yes, it is a brighter red than a regular LP Studio, "Wine" burgundy red. Know that you mention it, I bet they do use black first as an undercoat to make the tiger striped maple grain pop out more.

It may just be a personal bias, but I find my Lucy to be more attractive.
