I seem to recall in one of the previous webinars (with Brandon and Seth) Cakewalk used the opportunity to announce the availability of something during the webinar...I think it was a patch. Anyone else recall that or have I entered into my dotage? If you do recall what was it they announced? I'm just thinking what with the new forum, the Sonar X2 PE poll, and now this webinar that maybe we have the X2b patch coming round the mountain with availability announced by Brandon at some point in the webinar. Or maybe it is just wishful thinking on my part. Thanks,
Mike Win8(64), Sonar X3e(64) w/ RME Fireface UFX.

Don't feel bad Wayne. It's a Roland seminar, not a Sonar seminar. I'm sure we'll hear all about anything of interest.

Thanks for the heads up, I thought it was going to be a X2 webinar. I'm not interested in watching a two hour commercial for more hardware....I've got enough hardware.

Hey everyone, Hope to see you all at the webinar. It starts at 3pm PDT. Here's a little bit about what we'll be doing: I'll have a four piece band called Souliance as special guest performers. We'll talk about using mobile recording gear to catch ideas and get quality recordings outside of the studio. Then we'll be using various gear (lots of Roland stuff in addition to other things) to record the band live (about 15 tracks). I'll be using the new STUDIO-CAPTURE. It will be handling all the monitoring and multiple headphone monitor mixes, talkback, reverb monitoring, etc. We'll track directly into SONAR X2. Both SONAR X2 and STUDIO-CAPTURE are multi-touch enabled so I'll be using a touchscreen for this webinar as well. So we'll go through the setup, preparing the project, project layout, and then we'll track the band live - maybe do some overdubs if we have time. I'll incorporate some of the tracks from the mobile recording setup with the live recording and then we'll mix the whole thing using a lot of ProChannel and the various available modules. There will also be Q&A. It will move fast as the whole thing is only an hour, but I hope it will provide some useful info regardless of what your level of knowledge is. I look forward to seeing you there if you can make it. -Brandon

Nice job to all involved... Brandon... You did a wonderful job explaining basic mixing as well as executing it in a very short, concise time... Tho I'm sure you did some prep before the webcast... Thanks!
Good choice of (Roland)gear too... Sure made monitoring and bleed a lot easier/cleaner...

Excellent seminar...well worth watching, but it was way more complicated than what I'm doing with my Sonar. But it's nice to see the power of Sonar being used to it's fullest. I'm gonna have to spend more time getting to know the different compressors and console emulations. Lot's of good mixing tip were covered. The bands was really good too, to get that song down in one take was much more than I expected.
