Having trouble making MIDI to audio

Hi all. I'm a new user to Sonar X1 LE. I recently purchased the Roland Sd-50 synth module that came with the program. I have everything set up right. I am getting sounds successfully from my synth module but the problem is exporting as a wav. I did some research on google about how to accomplish this and I found the freezing the MIDI track method so that it will convert to an audio automatically. I've tried it and haven't had any success. So how can I convert the synth sounds from my module to audio in the program successfully? Please help. Thanks.

    Welcome, Rich.
The bounce or freeze methods work for soft synths, but not for external hardware modules.
You say you are getting sound successfully from the module. Is the sound playing through an audio track in Sonar?
If so, arm the track and hit record.
You will need to record the audio output from the module real-time to your audio track.
Once that is done, you will have something to export.
I am not directly familiar with the SD50, but your signal path should be:
MIDI track>Output to SD50...SD50 Input to Audio track.
You can build complex project songs by recording different MIDI tracks to new audio tracks.
    Then export the whole project.

Hi Robert, thanks for replying. I did what you said about having the output of the midi track to SD-50 and having the input of the audio track to SD-50 and tried arming/recording. I'm still not getting a signal in the audio track though.

Hmm, ok I have had some success. I can capture the sound from the MIDI into audio now BUT my problem now is the sound quality. It drastically diminished for some reason. Can anyone help me resolve that issue?

    Well, that's forward progress.
How is the sound quality diminished?
Low levels? Choppiness? Can you describe the difference you are hearing?
In X1 LE, what is your playback timing master?
