Does anyone have Valhalla's ubermod?

I guess I'm an idiot! How do you make the tempo sync to host? It says on the site that ubermod has this capability. I'm trying the demo, but I believe it's full featured except for the silence every 45 seconds.

The sync setting is below the delay slider. Click on the value to the right of SYNC: to get the drop down of values

Thanks Scook. I guess I was doing it right, but the mod and vib were throwing me off a bit. It didn't sound in sync. I was trying to make a very simple tape echo effect out of a echo preset, but forgot to turn the mod and vib down. Do you actually have ubermod? It's pretty fantastic.

Yes, I actually have ubermod, along with the rest of the Valhalla plugs.

Ubermod is a great plugin, but it's not always easy to pull out a particular effect that you have in mind. Most of the time when I use it, I end up finding a nice effect by accident rather than by design. Once I do get something good happening, I make a point of saving it as a preset to add to my collection.

But despite the serendipitous nature of the plugin, I'm really glad I have it in my toolkit because when it sounds good - and it usually does - there's nothing else in my arsenal that'll accomplish quite the same effect. So go ahead and buy it, Clint. Just don't plan on using it as your go-to anything in particular, but rather as a facilitator of happy accidents.

Yeah, I'll get it pretty soon. It really seems pretty special. Through all of my delay testing I did re-discover VOS Nasty DLA. That's  pretty good too if you ask me. I had a nice sound going with the NastyDLA and Valhalla's freq echo, lightly combined.

Nasty DLA may actually be a better choice if you're specifically looking for a tape delay simulation.

Another inexpensive "creative" delay is Rob Papen's RP-Delay, which can do all sorts of wacky modulation and stuff. But as with Ubermod, getting any specific effect involves a lot of trial-and-error experimentation.

Of course, if you want the ultimate do-anything delay that would be FabFilter's Timeless 2. But it's way beyond anything most of us need for bread 'n butter delay effects.

Personally, I usually reach for the good ol' Sonitus Delay first for most tasks. If they'd just do a little work on it, fix some bugs, add some modulation, it could be on par with the best delays out there.
