Matrix Missing MIDI Notes

Hey all,
 
I've got some midi clips that play fine in the regular timeline.  When I drag them to the matrix, they miss starting notes randomly.  I've rebuilt my aud.ini.  Any other suggestions?

    increase your midi buffer in properties?

    Have not played with the Matrix but does the Edit > Preferences > MIDI > Playback and Recording Playback "Prepare Using nnn Millisecond Buffers" setting effect this too? If so, make sure to have this set to 500 or higher.
