Love the intro and the verse. The intro seemed like a fresh and imaginative variation of a worn out "intro before the heavy" motif. The verse seems just right; the mix, the lyric... it is solid.

I don't think the solo made the song any more exciting or interesting... it seemed perfunctory and perhaps misplaced.

IMO, the overall impression is that everything was really well done.

    all the best,
    mike

Thanks James! I'm using the Line6 Pod HD Pro on guitar. Can't remember the setting though. Then used some Sonitus reverb with some automation on the end for the long decay. Glad you liked it!

Yep, That's good stuff man. What comp and Limiter are you using? I'm a VST addict so I'm always interested in such things. Great Job!

Thanks bro! On the master bus I'm using the Focusrite LiquidMix for comp and limiting. I'm using the Manley Variable Mu simulation. I appreciate you checking it out!

Hmmm. That (Variable MU) sounds a lot like that new VOS plugin Vintage Broadcast Limiter. It's 32bit, but sounds pretty good to me.

I love the LiquidMix. It's quirky, and gives me problems sometimes. But the sound to me is worth it. Vintage Broadcast Limiter huh? I might have to check that out!

Leadfoot - sounds really good!  Top notch guitar tones.  I also loved the vocals and the vocal processing - great harmonies that blend so well together.  The rhythm guitars are nice and bright and loud - and well EQ'd.  However, with the nice high pass on the rhythm guitars, the bass doesn't seem to be loud enough to carry the bottom end.  The bottom of the Kick could be a little louder too.  The drums sound awesome - love the snare sound.  Nice sizzling guitar work!

Thanks for the kind words guitartrek! I did struggle a bit trying to get the right balance in the low end. Maybe I should take a look at that again. I appreciate you letting me know. It's nice getting other sets of ears on a song. Thanks again!

Sounds good and all advice above seems to have already been taken care of on my listening to this. Very nice sound on all the guitars and everything seems to be fitting together very nicely. Great song and mix.

The mix is very good, but I think I would bump up the Vox  a bit... cool tune...
