This would be very nice, just to see the thing from someone else's perspective. Take your time and when you're ready, just send me a PM.

Hey Alpha
Sorry for the delay but have kind of half made a template so if you haven't already worked it out you can have a look at mine.
It's only five tracks that I've assigned and I've left it to you to add effects from sonar if you wish.
I just used the ones within philharmonik.

You should be able to download it from here

Ah no problem man, I almost forgot about it since I'm on vacations :P I did work it out by myself a little bit but I find your template clean and ordered. It is a good idea to make each track narrower since we got a great mess of them! When there is panning and volume automations to do, are you applying them to the midi track or to the audio track?

Panning and volume automation I would always do in the audio track effects too but the ones that come with philharmonic are usable.
I don't do much classical but sometimes rather than use verb on each track in philharmonic it's a good idea to create an auxiliary bus and route all your audio tracks to it and then use a nice room verb on the auxiliary bus to make it sound they they're all being played in the same room.

Automation inside philharmonic looks like a PITA to be honest and I've not used it at all but I don't use so much classical
and orchestral sounds in my music as I was a few years ago. Gone back to basics

Got it. I usually create a single auxiliary bus for my instruments but since I mostly use Kontakt 5 (Philharmonik was only used as a sample, although I use it sometimes), the reverb is often pre-added/pre-calibrated so there is not much work to do in 2013. However, I still create a reverb bus for Kontakt exceptions and other VSTIs. As far as I am concerned, I set the reverb individually for the drums in order to get some specific sound feelings.

I might come up with something by the end of summer (if I kick my butt a lil'bit!)

Thanks again.

Just remembered something I wanted to ask, when you load this up do the strings play properly on yours ?
Mine are almost inaudible and it's driving me mad. It's like there's some volume reset but I don't see how and it certainly wasn't me who put one in.

I take it you recognised the tune ? Sadly it's not mine but I spent a very long time recreating it

Yes, strings are playing properly on mine. However, the "Strings 2" are, for some reason, real low in volume, even though the gain is at +6.0! (is that what you were talking about?). Well, I think I found a culprit. If you look at the piano roll view, you can notice that the notes velocity is real low. Therefore, I just increased the velocity value of the whole track and the sound came back to normal. Somehow, when you wrote the partition with your mouse, the velocity was set to a low value (can't tell you why though).

After all, I think it doesn't sound bad because they're like playing a second melody in the background, if you know what I mean :P
