what is your online file backup system of choice??

Hey guys. Been meaning to research this for some time now. I have been looking to the cloud as a backup option but of course I am cheap. And I don't want to pay. Few questions... I am wanting to do this after I get my projects folder organized. It's an 8 year mess.

Has anybody scripted their own backup system? I have my own webspace with unlimited bandwidth and space so ideally I would want to use that. Has anybody managed this with Windows backup?

What (ugh) paid solutions do you find useful.

I currently back up to a hard drive. But I hav. Been getting more and more paranoid lol.

Buffalo NAS Raid 0, wake on LAN.

Use a unix like scripting language to sync the NAS to my "Cakewalk Projects" folder on my DAW's F: drive.

Online I use Carbonite. Not free but it works and has saved my business files when the HD crashed and I needed to get a new machine. Up and running in a few minutes.

For the DAW.... I use a USB external and I have a 2 HD DAW..... drive 2 is backup and storage, and the back up folder gets backed up to the external. not too likely both will fail at once. The DAW is off line so carbonite is not an option.

I've considered using an on-line storage, & even have 25 gigs free for 2 years with 'DropBox', but I'm not a real fan of having my songs, projects, etc.:
    A. In someone else's hands;
    B. Where I may not be able to access them in the event of a downed internet service or website including the rare but still possible chance of a banned or bankrupt company/site.
    C. Where the file may not be saved and/or retrieved properly.

Myself, I bought a 1 TB Western Digital External USB 3.0 drive for $89.00, partitioned into 3 sections which stays connected to my rig.
[I use other SSDs for my OS & DAWs & programs.]

    Partition #:
    1. is for songs/projects only.
    2. is for all [and I do mean all] of my DAW related software & plugs, VSTs, updates, previous versions for backward install options, etc. placed there as soon as I purchase/download them.
    3. is for my VST libraries & other libraries.

Then, I also have simple USB Flash drives 8-16 Gigs as secondary back ups that I don't keep connected to the rig, and only plug in to save projects.
Then it goes right back into a fireproof safe, [$49.00], along side my OS disks & other install CDs/DVDs.

This method is a one-time purchase fees - no monthly or yearly fees - done!

And all completely in my control!
