Program Compatibilty assistant?

It depends on whether the program installed successfully or not. This robot is supposed to examine installations and see if it can detect a problem that might keep the installation from happening, or that might make the installation function incorrectly. Typically it is looking for signals from the installer and the OS that might indicate the installer program was designed for an earlier version of windows, that has (or more often lacks) features of the current version of Windows. One example might be that the installer looks for a particular Windows version and will not install into a later version. More commonly it may find that the installer is not aware of UAC and needs to be run as an administrator, or that it is not aware of the new directory system that installs under \user accounts and tries to install into protected locations. The robot is not supposed to have any effect on the program that is being installed, it just changes how Windows interacts with the program. Because the older programs can not have been written to be aware of the newer OS, the assistant is programmed to recognize problematic installation symptoms, not individual programs, and false positives are definitely going to happen. But in most cases you probably run little risk in accepting the recommended settings. If the installed program fails to run you can always uninstall and re-install using the recommended settings or not.
