SampleTekk Releases- Tonewheel

The Draw-Bar is open!
Tonewheel 3 day special - 17.15 USD (Normal Price 49 USD)
If you're looking for the ultimate Hammond B3 Clone, keep looking! If this organ was a date, it wouldn’t be the one you presented to your mother – this is the one you would PARTY with!
This is a road-worned, scarred warhorse with tons of attitude. This Hammond L-100 has personality, it has flaws, it has dents and bruises – It’s only rock’n’roll but I’ll think you’ll like it…….
Between June 28 and June 30, you can get the Tonewheel for only 17.15 USD!!! That's a REAL no-brainer!

To get the discount, just write "y7he" (without the""), in the coupon field when checking out.
You'll need minimum Kontakt 4 full version. It will open in the free player, or with a player that came with another Kontakt instrument, but only in a demo mode. That means that there's a time limitation per session.
Check out the Tonewheel at: SampleTekk

Looks like I am going to have to get this one, I won't be able to try it out for a while but $17.15 and the known quality of Sampletekk's products.................. it's a done deal.

...the known quality of Sampletekk's products...

WARNING: This one's NOT of the same quality as SampleTekk's pianos and other libraries. It's raunchy and raw by design. It's not a faithful reproduction of Hammonds in general, either, but rather one specific and very beat-up and abused Hammond. But it won't sound like any other organs in your collection.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Already bought it, given the irresistible price.

In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

Anyone know where I can get a good knife plugin to run it through?

I played with it a little today and like it. I opened Kontakts editor and changed some things around and came up with some very nice un-raunchy Hammond sounds just by cutting the release time in the modulation section. It brought back old memories as the first keyboard I ever purchased was a Hammond B3 w/122rv leslie back in 1972.

There is a lot more to it if you don't mind playing around with the Kontakt editor and you can't beat the current price. If you use it 'as is', it is different but still has a cool sound.

    Purrrfect Audio DAW here.  Wow!...

I happen to like the dirty, raunchy, beat-up tonewheel character; the audio examples sounded good for this type of grinding, raunchy rock organ.  This will not replace the gold standard B4ii for those who are lucky enough to have that fantasatic B3 vst (which is unjustifiably no longer available) and which let the user choose between six different stages of tonewheel character and age: pure, clean, classic, dirty, filthy, and trash.  However, given that B4ii is no longer available, the option for a trashy B3 sample library from SampleTekk is a good alternative to NI's Vintage Organ.  Not sure if I will grab this SampleTekk Tonewheel or not, but the price is tempting and it does provide some cool alternative tonewheel "character" for those who need or desire such.

    Per "Worra" Larsson, SampleTekk here!
Glad that the Tonewheel strirred up some attention here!
Yep, it's NOT the ultimate B3 clone. I think it's much more fun to make something that sticks out a bit. So, it's a old L100, sampled through a Leslie that had the rotors standing still since I wanted the sound.
A lot of time and effort have gone into this project, so no differences there compared to the big pianos.
So, any question about the Tonewheel that you might have, or opinins on it, are of course welcome!

Played around with it last night and it definitely sounds very different from any of NI's Vintage Organs or B4.

The real Hammond players here can describe it better, but I will say it has its own personality and it certainly isn't very smooth, pedestrian, clean or perfect. And, aside from being a Hammond, it doesn't sound very much like the others (even if you change B4's tonewheel settings).

And Worra, you might want to take a look - when loading, it's looking for "C:\Users\Worra\Desktop\..." and I have to tell it where I have it installed. Not a big deal, but just so you know.

Glad that you say that it doesn't sound like any other sampled organs! That was my goal. Also, "smooth, pedestrian, clean and perfect" wasn't on the agenda either...:)
I'm at a point now, where I enjoy making charachter instruments. As a musician, I like to play on those since they often give me ideas and inspires me, so I hope that this, and upcoming attractions will serve the same purpouse for others too! Don't get me wrong, the pristine organs, pianos and other instruments has a place too.

I haven't had the chance to play it yet but Dave's comment about it not sounding like any of the other organs has my curiosity up. After I decide which hard drive to feed it to I'll be up and running...hopefully.

Not many L100's sampled I suppose... Also, sampling through a Leslie, (with speakers standing still so you can use a Leslie Emulator for rotor speed), makes it special. The L100 has a special sound, and that's a sound that I happen to like! This special instrument also sounds a lot better (IMOHO), then any other L100 I've heard!
Also, I'll let you in on a small secret: We are starting our annual summer sale the 4:th of July, so then you can get the Tonewheel, and any other instrument from our site, with a 50% discount!"

I got the file downloaded. As usual Per was very helpful. A very nice organ. You are not forced to live with a dirty sound if that doesn't fit your song. I happen to like a dirty organ and got some nice sounds out of it. I can hear this organ in songs in my head. Highly recommended.
