CHeck out permission settings

At the top of the forum there's a section called page extras. Scroll to the bottom and see the various permissions that can be set. I'd like to activate a couple of those, like delete MY post and delete MY thread. There's others of interest. I have permission to vote on a poll but do not have permission to start a poll.

I'd like to unlock some of these permissions.

Regards, John

Those are usually for moderators and admins. The admins would have to elevate your user status to unlock them.

The admins would just need to turn them on to let us have them. And then they would be available to all. We wouldn't need to be mods or admins.

But they have chosen to keep those things to themselves. You have to wonder why they would not allow us to delete our own posts?

    Maybe due to past experiences!

Yeah, I phrased that poorly. I'm sure they could unlock them in general or on a case by case basis but some of those features are traditionally Admin/Mod related. There are probably many reasons they've set things the way they are but I'm sure potential abuse is a major factor. I'm just thinking what the spammer guys could pull if they had those extra options.

Some how I don't think spammers deleting their own posts is a bad thing. Polls on the other hand, would be great to gain consensus on feature requests. Rather than a disjointed group of people making feature requests, we could submit a petition. Starting to sound like democracy.

Ampfixer, on the last forum we had that feature IIRC. And a few polls were started. They just never really accomplished much that I remember.
