A taste of blues for you - Your Funeral My Trial

Besides seeking any and all of the normal input, when I shoot these videos I've been using a regular sm 58, I'm growing weary of seeing a partial mic stand in the shot.  Anyone know how a shotgun mic would work in this scenereo?

Hope you enjoy :)

Cute video... I noticed your Casio Midi guitar...
I had one years ago, that I used all the time... lots of latency, but very effective when used with a slow attack, synth pad, mixed with the strat-guitar sounds... as a strat-style guitar, she was a peach... I sold it on ebay, but wish I hadn't...

Thanks, yes the Casio actually sounds more like a Strat than my Strat. (it's a Strat plus, humbucker in the bridge position) and it's green which doesn't work so well shooting in front of a green screen.

I don't use the midi often anymore, Latency is much better on the higher strings. It is useful for things I want to bend, say a sax line or such. But for inputing dums bass or normal keys, a keyboard controler is much better.

Sixfinger, Now that video was pretty cool ....
I dug the overall vibe , sound and look of it ....... it sure put a smile on my face
Yeah those Casio midi guitars are nice ....Emily Remler had one just like yours and I used to play it when we jammed together at her pad ...
    after seeing you video,
I think I'm gonna have to  pick up a green screen .... my videos look like I'm stuck playing my guitar in my moms unfinished basement apt  God rest her soul ...

Thanks Kenny, cool to know Emily had one (i'm a fan). Green screens are pretty fun and pretty cheap, you do need to light it as evenly as possible then light your subject seperatly.

Glad you liked the vid :)

Clean, Rimshot, Night Fox, thank you for that :)

John, I may have missed out, can't seem to find it anyway. The closest Rode I see is the NTG2 (in price) but the description seems different. Perhaps you have a link?
