Opened old 32 bit project--not allowing me to insert 64-bit plugins

Opened an old ditty I did back in 2009 (whatever version I had back then) to "update".  I've deleted all of the old plugins on the tracks that no longer exist and wanted to replace them with new stuff in my X2 64-bit.  When I right-click to insert a plug-in it limits my selection.  Specifically, my EZMix2 plug-in (64 bit) doesn't show as an option (nor do others) although I DO still see it listed in my Plugin Manager.

How do I "update" these old 32-bit projects I did so that I can redo them in X2?!

I WAS able to work around this by doing a "copy all" of my tracks into a brand new X2 project that used my NORMAL template--all of my VSTs were available then.  But still...what the heck happened there?
