Looking for a specific piano sound
I'm trying to find a piano sound called Miami Grand. It disappeared from Dimension pro. I think I started this particular project in Sonar X1. X1 came with Dimension LE. I have since installed X2a and Miami Grand is apparently not in Dimension pro. Can someone with X1 check Dimension LE to see if it has this piano? I googled Miami Grand.sfz but it's no where to be found. No other piano can substitute for this sound in this project. thanks.

In my DimPro installation the "Miami Grand.sfz" is in the "Multisamples\Digital Sound Factory E-MU Proteus Examples\Proteus 2000" My DimPro installation may not be typical. It is an accumulation of all the versions of DimPro and SONAR Producer.

Thanks scook, Do you know which version of Sonar the EMU-Proteus came with? I don't have that anymore either. I also noticed that Dimension pro is installed twice. once in January of this year and again in February. That's strange. Maybe I should uninstall it then reinstall again. Thanks

I have no real recollection of when it appeared but based on your .sig, I would guess it was on the Additional Content disk that came with 8.5 Producer.

Does this older content work with Pro 1.5? I upgraded from XP to Win7PRO before my X1 install, and also don't have a lot of this content from the 8.5 disc. Can I just copy it somewhere and start using it?

Yes, older content works with DimPro 1.5. FWIW, I subsequently found the preset that was the subject of this thread on the DSF website in the example download area

You're the man scook!! Now how do I get Dimension Pro to see it? I copied it into where the samples are and brought up Dimension and pressed F5 but it doesn't see it. The Miami Grand piano I want is in that sample pack and I need that sound.

There are two directories in the zip file, Multisamples and Programs. Each has a subdirectory that needs to be installed. The multisamples 64bit default location is "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Multisamples" and the programs go into "C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Programs". The C:\ProgramData directory is a hidden directory. Let me know if you have any trouble. I would have posted earlier about the DSF examples (I found them a few days ago poking around their site after receiving an email from them) but thought the issue was resolved.

Thank you so much scook. You saved my song. Miami Grand is back and working nicely. It's a wonderful day in the neighborhood.
