Grouping channels

I've sent this in as a feature request but it's occurred to me it may already be possible, just not obvious.
Every time I set up a drum bus I have to go through the process of routing each drum track to that bus.
Surely if tracks can be grouped all I should need to do is assign the first track to my new bus and all the other tracks in that group should follow suit ? It seems to me that only the faders respond as a group right now, you would think at least solo and mute should work as a group but they don't either. Would be a big time saver if it did work that way. Perhaps you could configure what actions you wanted to make part of the group ?

Virtually all controls can be grouped

You need to select a bunch of tracks and use the control key while adding sends, setting mutes, output channels etc

Oh dear, I feel very stoopid now.
I didn't think anything so obvious would have been omited.

lol, I wouldn't feel stupid at all, quick grouping is a really nice function to have.
took me a while to wrapping my head around the solo/mute quick grouping(where pressing mute on one track will solo 3 others)
that's helpful during mixdown when your working with levels on only a few tracks like drums+bass.

ps-loved your thread on multi touch, checked the videos out as well, some good stuff steve.

Oh dear, it's about time I invested in a new keyboard. I was trying it using the cntrl button for ages but the cntrl button on the left side of my keyboard is very flaky and I have to apply all my weight to make it work I then tried the one on the right hand side and it all works fine now.

    Thanks people.

Now if only sonar would display folders in the console view in relation to the track view.
Or is this another thing I've missed ?

Thanks Charlie, I don't have windows 8 but perhaps when I can afford something like This I'll think about getting it.
I usually wait for a few revisions and service packs these days anyway. I hear they're bringing either a new version or updating the old one for people who wanted the start button and desk top as their starting point and I think I might be one of those people.

Steve, the touch screen you link to is exactly the one I purchased, but now that I have it, I realize I could have saved some money on one like this...
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824176356
For the purpose of working using touch in Sonar, the extreme edges of the screen do not matter that much. There's a lot of stuff on the web about how you need the edges of the screen to work for swiping in from the right or down from the top, but I do very little of that in practice. I mostly launch and close programs with the keyboard or by using the quicklaunch at the bottom of the screen. I use the touch for controlling faders and pans and playing with synth settings or TH2 stuff. I use it when I'm practicing my guitar A LOT to zoom and rewind and play and change tempo.

When I'm getting down to business of mixing a big multi track project, I pretty much sit back and work my keyboard and mouse like I always have. Then, when my friends come over, we turn off read automation and play with the console view as we listen. Anyone can adjust anything they like to solo or listen with different settings to get a sense of how it would sound if we bumped this or that.

When I get another touch screen, I will get a two point touch screen that is significantly cheaper than the one you pointed out. Frankly, that would have been a fine entry point for me. I bought the other because I read about lots of 'compatibility issues' which frankly wouldn't effect me as a Sonar user.

StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen.
I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

Yes! Folders in Console View please.

As far as linked parameters, groups whatever that shiz doesn't work the way I want. Example: If I have two rhythm guitar tracks panned left and right I want an easy and reliable way to have EVERYTHING on those tracks stay perfectly in sync. I mean PC settings, effects, MSR states, etc. The only problem with that would be that then my pan knobs would be linked too so I propose an option where there is a list of basic parameters like pan, fader, MSR that can be excluded from the link. As it is I have to copy over my FX bin or a channel preset to the opposite panned track. It's too many steps. I know there are other ways around this but I think it could be easier.
