Dimension Pro 1.5 update questions...
I am updating to S2 from S1 and am very confused about installing Dim Pro. I have v. 1.2 installed somewhere (that I cannot figure out), but the updater (and the dialog box searching for the previous version) is very confusing. The problems are compounded by the many instances of Dim Pro (32 and 64 bit) that have been installed over the years, chewing up massive amounts of disk space. Also, that I generally put all my VSTs in the folder: C: VST/Vst Plugins (In S1, I have menu items of Dim Pro that don't work at all) How can I clean up this mess? howard

Perhaps it would be best to perform an uninstall on the original Dimension Pro 1.2 and remove ALL components automatically. After the application uninstall, look through the registry and delete any instances of Cakewalk\Dimension Pro, etc., but only do so if you know what you're doing, you've made a registry backup, and you are confident you are deleting the right registry keys. Then, update to S2. When satisfied with the S2 install, then reinstall Dimension Pro 1.2 and perhaps immediately update to 1.5. Next, load Dimension Pro 1.5 in S2 however it is done, if not done automatically upon load. (Sorry, I am unfamiliar with Presonus' stuff.).

Uninstall as 2:43AM said, but when you reinstall Dim Pro, use the version that comes with S2. It's a seperate installer (also a seperate download) and it will install 1.5 in one go without the need to manually update it. About 32 and 64 bit plugins: if possible (which it often is) I disable the installing of 32 bit plugins but because some plugins don't let you do that (for some odd reason) I always have TWO Vstplugins folders, one called Vstplugins 32 and one called Vstplugins 64. Don't think I need to explain which plugins go where... Since I use Windows 7 64 bit I only added the 64 bit folder to S2: Sonar doesn't even know that 32 bit folder exists. It's VERY important to keep those two versions separate!!! Some developers may give different names to the 32 and 64 bit versions but most don't. Maybe 32 bit versions of Dim Pro ended up in your S1 Vstplugins together with 64 bit versions and maybe that's why you see plugins that won't work. Doing it like this I always know where any 32 bit plugin is going (avoiding a mess on my PC with plugins everywhere) and I always know Sonar won't see them.
Sonar 8.5 PE, Edirol FA-66, Behringer C-1. All instruments in my songs are VSTi's. Check out Soundclick

Went to uninstall Dim 1.2 and discovered that not only are there 2 Dim 1.2 instances installed, but also Cake 7, 8.5, 8.5 (64), and S1. Can I/ Should I uninstall all of these? Thank you, howard

No, the old SONARs have effects that might go w/ songs. They actually take up little space. DimPro is about 5 gigs, about what SONAR is, including gigs of loops. You don't need more than one copy of the loops, either, but keep the SONARS. @

And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

had the same prob. then deleted all DimPro, re-installed a 64-bit DimPro only in C/Program Files. Have all 32bit plugins in C/Program Files (x86) -> it's the 32 bit folder (all 64 bit in C/Program Files). Then in Sonar hit 'P' and in 'Folders' selected to rescan all VST folders, then all was ok. (have 64 bit Windows 7). good luck

If you remove DimPro v1.2 and have older SONAR projects with the DXi version of DimPro in them, those projects will be missing DimPro when they are opened.
