Two incredible young talents . . . why are these kids not famous but Justin Bieber is ?

Found this INCREDIBLE young TALENTED musician Josh Turner on YouTube and all I can say is WOW!  Josh Turner is on guitar and Larkin Dodgen vocals.

People that enjoy music as much as those two probably don't spend a lot of time thinking about stuff like fame.

It looks and sounds like they already have everything a person could want. :-)

The simple answer to your question is fame and talent are two different things. If we took a snapshot of the billboard top 100 at any point in history, I doubt it has ever come within a 50 point margin of error of coinciding spot for spot with talent level. Talent is subjective and relative even among those who have similar tastes..

So you're saying that those that are famous and those that are talented taste the same?

Not at all. I'm saying that even fans of a particuar style of music have trouble reaching consensus over the issue of who has talent. Bottomline is that fame is a fickle thing. Would Kim Kardashian be even slightly famous if talent was a prerequisite?

It's been clear for quite some time that you don't need talent to be famous. Music is one example. Reality TV shows are another.

It's all part of the dumbing down of America. Well, the world really. It's like that everywhere.

    What is fame?

Can it be manufactured or is it a gift that is bestowed by individual members of the public that willingly enter the conspiracy?

Complaining about the Justin Beibers of the world suggests that the complainer has acquiesced to acknowledge a role in the partnership.

With so many examples of great talent, such as was posted in the OP, it is hard to imagine how a shallow manufactured reputation can serve as a distraction.

This particular example: "Falling In And Out Of Love With You/Amiee" left me very appreciative of the fact that there are so many wonderful musicians out and about. Wow. Nothing but the music. It is great to listen to people who have so much confidence in the strength of the music that they can stand still and listen to them selves make those wonderful sounds. Wow.

    best regards,
    mike

These guys are fantastic!  I discovered them purely by chance when looking for covers of "Amie" (the Pure Prairie League song).  I then found out that I had missed their appearance a few miles away from me by just a few days.  I hope to see them live sooner or later.  Not only is Josh talented, but he also surrounds himself with some amazingly creative and accomplished musicians.
