How to change the color scheme in X2 to light scheme from 8.5? Also, Staff View question.
I've been using 8.5 since it came out and am very used it its light color scheme. The light scheme in X2 doesn't seem to change the background colors, and when I try to import a .clr file (I like some of the top ones from ) it doesn't do anything. Is there a resource for these .clr files that work with Sonar X2? Also, if anyone uses the staff view, it seems that there are no selection tools or actual note types on the staff view pane. I want to be able to select the note duration (quarter note, eighth) without having to open a dropdown menu, and also select the pencil/eraser. Is there a way to customize the view so it's more like 8.5? I don't actually use any other kind of input except occasionally playing things in via keyboard. If anyone is confused by what I'm asking, I can post pictures. Thanks.

For now, you might want to get used to the color schemes provided or download Duckbar from http://www.sonarmods.com (register to download) if you want more elaborate color control. For note selection in Staff view, you could create keyboard shortcuts. There are keyboard shortcuts for the tools already.

That seems to be a micromanaging tool though, right? I just figured there would be a .clr color template. Am I the only one who liked the old Sonar 8.5 scheme? What do people normally do about color schemes? As for the staff view, I do know the keyboard shortcuts, but I'm used to primarily using the buttons. Is there no way to customize the staff view at all? Without that, my workflow is going to be really stifled. Thanks and sorry for being stubborn, but I want to find a solution that allows me to keep working without having to relearn everything as if I had switched to a whole different program.

It can be. No others have stated their color preferences. I suggested the most common solutions, there are some tweaks you can do in preferences and via the inspector too but not very many. Add keyboard shortcuts to add the features you want in the staff view. I don't see it as stubborn. If you want to work with 8.5 it should still be available on your machine. If you insist that X2 work like 8.5 you will probably get very frustrated.

Well, I want the UI of 8.5, but the performance tweaks of X2 since I run to many vst instruments simultaneously. 8.5 starts breaking down at a certain point when you have too many large samples loaded, despite my 16gb memory.

What part of X2 is too dark for you ? I've created my own custom color scheme so you might want to do one of your own. (Preferences/Customization/Colors if you weren't already aware)........

Regarding the color scheme.
1) I tried to use it once with X1 and once with X2. Since I was running in circle with it I said the hell with. Give it a go but IMHO if you are not happy with it right away let it go.
2) I exported my custom 8.5 scheme but X1 and X2 appears to deal with colors differently so the scheme is useless with X1/2 I also dropped that path and took the next one
3) since I use 2 monitors I opened an 8.5 project with 8.5 and X2 side by side running the color customiization tool on both. Patiently I went thru all the customizable parm in X2 and did my best to match the settings to 8.5. I now have something more pleasant.
Don't forget that almost everything currently in grey "the console view for example" are hardoded templates so you either get light grey or dark grey
My 2 cents

First off, is what X2 looks like and is what I want it to look like. Those are the same sequence. Mario, are you able to export that color scheme you created to a file and post it for me? That would save me days of work. Teksonic, it's a matter of the dark background colors. I can't figure out a way to change them anyhow. See the two images.
