Sonar X2 disconnects my Quad-Capture Midi on play

Hi,
I try and not succeed.. yet to hear the internal banks of my Quad-Capture but Sonar disconnects it systematically. All seems to be configured correctly, I can see the meter when I play the midi keyboard, midi files have their midi tracks lighting up but : no sound at all. I really don't see why Sonar doesn't want the sound card at this point.

 Thank you

The Quad-Capture is a sound card, not a MIDI sound bank module. You need to insert a soft synth into Sonar so it can play the MIDI. MIDI is not sound and it has no sound. Its just DATA. This Data instructs the soft synth, "that you need to insert," and plays the sounds of that soft synth.

There are great tutorials on how to use soft synths in sonar. I would go through them to learn how to use MIDI.

Exactly as CJ has said.

Thanks. Actually the soft synths function well. It's just that I thought that the Quad-Capture could play midi as it appears under midi devices in Sonar. Now I know it doesn't : thanks again, and to Ryan too ! ;)

The Quad-Capture shows up under midi because it has a midi interface, which allows you to use a midi cable and plug in a midi device such as a midi keyboard.
