ProjectSAM Symphobia ModWheel problem

Hello there!

I've been playing around with Symphobia 2 for quite some months now, and I never had any problems with it in the past.

Today, I found a very nice Horns Ensemble which uses the ModWheel to control its attack. Therefore, the ModWheel always have to be maxed out in value for the horns to sound very aggressive (just like I want).

However, when I close and restart my project, the ModWheel value comes back to its initial state and I always have to raise it back on my Midi Controller (Axiom 49) for it to sound aggressive. Moreover, if I go on another instrument track for more than 2 mins, the value comes back to 64 as well.

How to fix this annoying problem? Any ideas? Any experiences?

Thank you very much everyone!

Andrew

If you're using Sonar first see if you have this option enabled.
Options > Project... > MIDI Out and uncheck "Zero Controllers When Play Stops."

Holy Jizzy you know what? I unchecked this option like two weeks ago because it caused problems and somehow it got checked back again! I'll try to test how the horns behave and report back here. Thanks a lot Carl!

"Zero Controllers When Play Stops" is a per-project setting. If you want all your projects to reflect that setting change the project template you start with.

I prefer to keep the zero-controllers option on because it's useful more often than it's a nuisance. Instead, just insert a modwheel event at the start of the track to initialize the value.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

It all depends on your workflow plus what you're doing at the time.

The major classical/ symphonic libs rely heavily on cc's, wheel, mod & expression which are integral for the synths performance & dynamics. So it can work providing all your tracks have controller info on them & are constantly adjusting in time.

For tight editing within short phrases or measures I can't stand it & leave off entirely in all my projects.
