How Big Do Your Project Folders Get?

I'm planning my new DAW setup currently.  I want to make sure I have enough drive space for current projects I am working on.   I have a 500 GB SSD Raid configuration that I plan on using, but I am wondering if that is big enough.   

I want to work on maybe 3 to 4 songs at a time (i could always do less).  I work mostly soft-synth, but eventually I will be mixing down to audio, let's say about 15-30 tracks on each song, 3 to 4 min pop songs.
 
What kind of file size should I be expecting?

Why raid?  How many actual disks?
 
The science is telling us smaller disks are better for quick saving/retrieving.
 
My music computer has a 500gb disk. Got about 200 "current" projects ranging from a few midi tracks to dozens of audio tracks, 1/2 mb to 18 gb.
 
As projects are finished they are "archived" to external disks, and removed from audio data disk.
 
3 physical disks in the machine:
OS disk   500gb  ( 4 partitions: w7 32, w7 64, w8 64, storage: misc files of programs, transfer,....)
Samples Disk  300gb
Audio Data disk   500gb
 
2 external disks: 2 terabyte, and 1 terabyte. [ Amazing: 1 trillion bytes, 8 trillion bits!!!! ]
 
I have a 4 megabyte disk on the shelf from my first computer.
 
 

The CWP with audio folder size can varies depending on the sample rate, bit depth, the effects you have on each track and the amount of buses and sends you use. You do not need to worry about hard disk space these days.
 
You may be able to fit 70 songs or 600 songs on that 500 gig hard drive. When it gets to about 20% capacity, get another hard drive for your audio.
