fader lag - release latency - setting?

Hi,
I am new here... I am moving over from the Digi-camp.
I have a question.
Why does the fader act as if it is not touch sensitive upon release?

If I grab a fader with the mouse, I release it and it snaps quickly into place. As every other console with moving faders does.

If I grab the fader on the vs-100 then let go and wait for it... there it goes (like 750ms later) it snaps back into place, completely ruining everything. It takes as long to react to no more user input as the value knob and the value knob is not touch sensitive.
I really must be missing something.
With the C-24 the faders snap back almost instantly.

Automation Write Mode is set to touch.

Is there a setting to adjust the how long it takes Sonar to realize I am no longer touching the fader?

The fader instantly knows when I touch it, the problem is with the release.
I let go of it and I watch the screen stay in record and overwrite my automation for about one full second.

Cheers,
McMasters

Also control surface refresh is at lowest 50ms.

Not sure about your problem.  I am running Win 8 64, driver version 1.5 on my VS100 and also AISO drivers for the audio.  Make sure your bit rates are the same with the VS100 and Sonar (16 or 24, etc).  I will try  to simulate your problem to find an answer.

Win 10 Pro x64, 32Gb DDR3 ram, Sonar Platinum, Cubase 9.5, Mackie MCU Pro, Cakewalk VS 100, Roland Octa-Capture,  A 800 Pro, Carver M-1.5t amp & C4000 pre amp, various mics, drums and brass instruments.

yep all the same 24bit - 44.1 same prefs in Sonar and vs-100

I mean it is so obviously slow... maybe my fader is just bad.

I can't see how any software/hardware engineer would say it is fine, lets sell this product as is. (at least as mine is)
It senses the touch instantly, it just seems to not release the instant my finger leaves the fader.

I can only use the fader for rough rides and fade-outs / fade-ins - I can not use it for quick ducking. It just is not fast enough.

Once I get a camera hooked up i will make a video... Maybe someone can tell me if my vs-100 needs some repairs.
