Wait For Me
Hi to all, I wrote a song dedicated to those that leave for military service in whatever role our country needs them in and also for the one they love that says they will wait for them. I think about those that face this everyday and feel for them. Thanks to those that serve and to those that love them for doing so. I have a little more work to do on this but thought I would share it before I put it to bed. Edit: 7-19-13 Uploaded new mix (overall level was too low on SoundCloud). https://soundcloud.com/jimmy-saad/wait-for-me Hope you like it. All comments welcome. Rimshot

I think it sounds really good, particularly the bass and guitars, but everything else sits nicely too. The only think I wasn't overly fond of were the synth strings. And some of your your dbled vox. (but it was relatively minor) (you're not paying your fair share. How much did you make? Send it in... Now THAT'S fair!)

Nice one Jimmy. Remind me of when I left for Vietnam back in 1968, and even though I didn't have a girlfriend or wife it was important for me to believe my family would be seeing me again and to trust in the Lord and have faith that I would return home safe. Very lovely song you have written here and thanks for sharing this with us all. Peace and Blessings, John

Great job on this! The bass guitar sounds nice and sits well in the mix. I like the drum sounds too - very clean and authentic. And that chorused guitar sounds great as does the guitar solo.

Great song... I really like the sound... love the vocals and the message... As a US Navy veteran (Vietnam era), I appreciate the song lyrics, and as a fellow songwriter/musician/producer, I appreciate all the talent and work that went into the production... Well done...

Yeah, I like this a lot. It's got a good melody, great guitar tone and the chorus is pretty catchy. I'll probably be humming it later.

Geno, thanks for the listen. This song started out with just playing that guitar part. The chords don't change from verse to chorus but with the change in melody you think the chords are changing too. The bass has only two pattterns as well. I am glad you liked it. Rimshot

Hi Bob. Thanks for commenting and I appreciate your feedback. For the bass, I posted a thread in this forum about how others are recording bass and learned a lot from it. I am going direct into a Alesis MICTUBE DUO and then use a little bit of basis compression. I cut some lows and added a touch around 2K and that was it. I was happy with the result. The lyrics could use some polish but at this point I thought I would go with it because the message is bigger than each work I think. I am happy you liked them as well. Take care. Rimshot
