Do you like the grill ??? Well.... let me say...
All my life I have grilled. I have had all kinds of grills but never until this year have I had a premium grill. No, it isn't the TOTL but it is a good one. It is the Weber Genesis, the one with the Sear Station and MAN... this grill makes a WORLD of difference. I can cook really good pork tenderloin in 20 minutes, chicken?? I am cooking the best chicken I have ever grilled. I also bought a "grilling book" by Weber and that has helped too. I am cooking chicken leg quarters right now. I put them on the "Sear Station" for maybe two minutes each side then moved them to the middle and turned the end burners on high... I cannot tell you the difference having a good grill makes. I have always bought those "wannabe" gas grills that run between 150 and 250 bucks, but this grill was worth every penny.I guess it is like the difference between spending the money and getting a good interface or good mic or trying to use a 19 year old US-122 interface and a cheap-o mic. Anyway... if you are going to buy a new grill this year or, more likely, next year.. I HIGHLY recomend the WEBER GENESIS with Sear Station. I also use a Weber charcoal kettle grill but not as much as I used to because this thing is da bomb. Got a smoker box with it, use either hickory, mequite, or apple chips.... it is GOOD. Weber also makes a line of gas grills that run near 2K dlooars.... I am not there yet but after this experience, if I ever buy another grill and the wallet has the funds I will be looking at that TOTL grill... if it is bette than this grill it is off the charts. What should I grill tomorrow? What say ye?? Oh BTW, a couple of bigshots of Schwartzhog makes it all that much better... and Spotify on the screen porch... Life is good, at least today it is! This is mine, though I wish I used it more... I love a nice, BIG filet mignon with red potatoes (covered with butter) and *Gasp!* some A1 Sauce. Mmmm... Heaven!

My Weber Spirit has been a fabulous workhorse for many years now...but my best bud has a Genesis and, like yours, ol pal, it rocks. Maybe next spring...congrats!! A good grill is a thing of beauty and utility.

Hi, I miss the restaurant grills ... the large slabs of metal and stuff. Those home bbq's were not quite my favorite, thought the dinner house I worked at and chef'd for a while, had an oak broiler ... don't know why people call them grills! It used oak for burning and let me tell you how good a teryiaki steak was on that thing!
As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

I really like my Grill Dome (Kamado style cooker). I have made all sorts of slow and fast cooked meals on it.
