great band. i like how aggressive frank is, with his sweep picking... it's not super smooth, which is nice. he's digging in. smoothest sweeper that ever lived was Shawn Lane (RIP) but i dig frank. he plays with meat killer drummer.

Very good technique. What does the guy with the baseball hat do when he's NOT endlessly running his scale exercises? Loved the other guy though.

Just finished the second video. *Pft!* Here I thought they were going to do something tough! Great stuff, but why does the bass player have to look like he should be alone in the shower?

I think this better:
There is something about listening to virtuosos honoring a great song that I especially enjoy.

That's really awful I'm not even sure that they're playing the same tune as each other It just sounds like a right pretentious load of bollocks to my untrained ears.

Ok, I will admit that if you want a laugh at that video, watch their feet. You'll notice that, when they are both tapping, they are in completely different worlds. Didn't sound too bad to my untrained ears though, but I've been numbed by listening to too many wankers at Guitar Center sitting next to each other playing different songs...

It saddens me to think that you have concluded that there is something pretentious about 2 guys sitting around playing guitar. Or someone enjoying listening to it. Or both. :-(

Listening now..tho not watching...and although they both are a bit melisma prone...who isn't these days?....still a nice rendition. Have to agree with Mike here. Two pros. Lovely. Absolutely lovely.

Right on,Jeff... Check out "Trio Sylvain Luc" with Renaud Garcia-Fons. To me Garcia-Fons is a (the?) master on 5-string contra-bass*. They're also in a group with Ballake Sissoko (on kora) if you scout around. Tony *Yep. 5-string

These guys definitely have it together. I'm a temporary jazz enthusiast and I temporarily enjoyed this. Thanks for posting the links.

Not to say it does get better but George Barnes with Duncan James is sure worth a listen. No links...at work but if you like jazz guitar it's worth the effort.
