Just wondering

Perhaps Cakewalk is doing a complete rewrite as they did mention they had problems with old legacy code?

After (if) they re-write, in three years it will be legacy code.

It's possible that they've been working on it for a couple of years I suppose. I guess problem legacy code has to be updated sometime.

I believe they had an issue where they were curtailed with some aspects maybe it is stopping them moving forward with new design structures. Better bite the bullet and fix it now as maybe later it would not be possible. Anyway I am sure something big is coming as competition is now getting stronger and many protools users are not happy with the new 11 version plus the costs entailed to upgrade. Lets wait and see. We are always pleasantly surprised by what Cakewalk does.

I'm sure if that's the case, we'll reap the performance benefits in X3. To tell the truth, I'd be stoked about that.
