No Sound - HELP

Sonar X2 Producer has been working wonderfully. Now, today, I don't get any sound output. I no my sounds card is working correctly, because all other programs that use it play fine (Finale, Windows Media Player, etc.) I have no other sound cards, just the M-Audio Delta. I have changed no settings, but today there is no sound. Help!

Assuming what you say about it working fine in other applications my first check would be my master out, muted etc. I'd also check across multiple projects and if none of them work I would recheck the routings in preferences.

Is there perhaps another audio program running that might have hijacked your sound card?

Is everything as it should be when you look at the audio settings and such in Sonar Preferences?

I believe there is a bug with Sonar that causes audio to stop.  Sometimes I can fix it by clicking the Run/Stop Audio Engine button in the Control Bar.  (It looks like a wave and is next to the icon of the MIDI plug.)  Sometimes, I have to restart Sonar, and sometimes I have to restart my PC.  The reason for restarting the PC is that sometimes shutting down Sonar leaves processes running.  You can end them in Task Manager but it is easier to reboot the PC.

When this happens, is the Run/Stop Audio Engine lit up or grayed out?

Thanks all. We had a power outage and the program was shutdown by the outage. I'd forgotten to check the timing and playback settings. They were not set to my soundcard. Problem solved by resetting those pointers.

Thanks again,

Well, now you have lots of ideas for when that is not the cause.
