V-Vocal crashes - X2 Producer
Hey all, I've been using X2 for a few months new - got the new update and everything. But when I go to use V-Vocal it was crash - I highlight a clip and go to start VV, then it crashes the program. Have not been able to find much help on this. Any advice? -Ryan

I know it's of no help, ry1633, and I'm sorry to get your hopes up when you see you have received a reply, but I wanted to chime in to mention that I am also experiencing this exact problem, also in X2 Producer (to be exact, in X2a Producer, 64-bit edition). I think I must have restarted the whole computer 5 or 6 times the other day among other vain attempts to resolve this problem. Ended up ditching the idea of using V-Vocal on the project at all. Will be watching this thread with interest, needless to say. Good luck to you (and me, I guess :) )!

I used V Vocal tonight and didn't have any crashes.
Did you try chunking up the clip into smaller sections to see if it works with smaller clips? Or maybe dump all FX while running V Voc to reduce the strain on the PC?

V-Vocal was the source of a lot of anger towards Cakewalk in the past, being a poorly written plugin. Then people started to drop it and use Melodyne or others instead. However it CAN be useful with a couple of workarounds. They are here: http://forum.cakewalk.com...13&mpage=1#2276613

I've never had this problem in X1 - VVocal always worked just fine. Yesterday I went to use it for the first time in X2 - crash. :(

The main issues I had with V-Vocal were mostly the chipmunks effect, where the octave was totally off after processing. Although I've been using an alternate plug-in lately, the last few times I tried V-Vocal, it was still occasionally doing the same thing. But I've only had V-Vocal crashes in X1d. X2 seems better in that regard. The main thing I had to keep in mind with V-Vocal was to not try to do too much with it at once. Work slowly and diligently. That seemed to help me. EDIT: This past weekend, I experienced two Sonar X2a 64-Bit crashes while using V-Vocal. Both times, it crashed while attempting to Play the audio from V-Vocal.

I've had V-Vocal crash Sonar for me. The only solution for me was a full re-install If you do decide to do this, make sure you do it properly and delete the necessary registry keys. Let's hope you can find a solution without having to resort to this.

yes I have the X2A patch installed. Still V Vocal crashes. Never did that before. Used it all the time in X1.

I finally got it to work late last night. Took me three hours. I un-installed everything - and then hacked everything called "Cakewalk" that I could find out of the Registry (which took me 15 mins just for that!). Reinstalled, re-patched, and now it's fine. Even fixed my other issue, having an X1 file that wouldn't open. I hope I don't have to go through all that again. :)

I've found V-Vocal does not behave well with some VST instruments, BFD2 specifically. If I have BFD in the synth rack, V-Vocal crashes sonar, if I remove BFD it works fine. Now if I could only find out why my insert effects like to bypass themselves requiring a restart of sonar....
