Touchscreen..

I have no interest in having with my DAW but
I can see where this might be handy if placed within reach
while playing/holding my guitars.

Would be cool to reach out in the air and push a level slider up or turn a know
without having to reach to a screen.
Not that it will do that...I don't know but maybe down the road.
(at work and can't watch the video)

Imagine when it's all eye scan control.

I'll just glance at my amp and give it "the look".

Kinda like I do with the drummer.

    This looks really cool.....

From the little I read on it, you actually don't need a touchscreen nor need to touch the screen , just Win 7 or 8 + USB2.

    They advertise it as:
"The Leap Motion Controller tracks all 10 fingers up to 1/100th of a millimeter. It's dramatically more sensitive than existing motion control technology. That's how you can draw or paint mini masterpieces inside a one-inch cube."

I'd like to see how this pans out in actual useage on day to day activities.....

if she could setup a paypal account...people wanting to buy her
    art.  LOL the kid's spunky.

She's used a Bamboo pen for years.

Nice thing about that unit is that it is actually a very mature technology.

As a matter of fact, my latest $60 Bamboo tablet was running multi touch with my fingers on my new Win7 Daw before I figured out how to turn it off. I couldn't figure out why the pen was acting so weird and then it all made sense. :-S

I have a Bamboo (well, actually I gave it to my grandson). The thing about the Bamboo (to me) is that it's still too far away from the screen and so it's still just a mouse (to my pea brain).

    back to the OP......

I wonder what would happen if (somehow) flies (or bees or flying cockroaches) breezed over that thing.

you grab a virtual baseball bat and probably knock yourself out!

I wondered if it was mounted on a guitar if you needed a whammy bar or wah-wah or...

    huh oh.....air guitar.

In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

One of these days people can just kick back in their recliner, slip on some head gear and
just wiggle around, waving body parts and realistically imagine they're really getting somthing done.

Then wake up realizing they are to fat to walk and on a spaceship drifting through space...
oh...I saw that in animated color....nevermind.

Just be glad they didn't try to explain their "bass player cloning technology" used in this one:

I dunno bout you drew but that's how I play bass.

Sitting on top of precariously stacked boxes and/or wearing pink horns.

At least they are shrink rapped (the boxes that is).
