You might try looking at freesound.org if you're just needing sound effects.

There are also a couple of sound effects libraries on sale in the Cakewalk store right now.

Also don't forget http://archive.org/ for hundreds of thousands of samples of all kinds....most in MP3 format I know, but doesn't really matter if you're just dragging them into the project for one-off FX.

just becareful there, someone packed a virus in one of the samples I got there a few months ago.
it was easy to see, obviously but just take caution, I love that place. the site is a history lesson.

Dimension Pro has quite a few built in, Brandon Ryan used the rain and thunder sounds in one of the Cake TV videos.  They were pretty good.

This has reminded me that somehow, over the years, 2x BBC Radiophonic Workshop sound effects CDs I used to own have gone missing :-(  There was a large series of ~27 vinyl LPs released, e.g.

Unlucky for some!  Fantastically ghoulish stuff like:
    Arm Chopped Off (0:03)
    Head Chopped Off (0:03)
    Sawing Head Off (0:05)
    Leg Chopped Off (0:02)
    Neck Twisted And Broken (0:02)
    Arm Broken (0:03)
    Stake Driven Through Heart (0:04)
    Branding Iron On Flesh (0:09)
Red Hot Poker Into Eye (0:07)
    Nails Hammered Into Flesh (0:18)

    That poor cabbage..! :-(

However, one cabbage's misfortune is another man's good luck; because of this thread I've found one of the CDs on Amazon for about £3:

Thanks every one. By the way, does Sonar has a vst that can manipulate wave files and if not i would need suggestions for a vst that can do the job. Thanks again.

I have an old post up on archive. :-)

    It's a great memory.

I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.
