Has Bob Currie left the Cakewalk building?

This was the guy who was in charge of the the Cakewalk LA-2A and other DSP stuff I believe.

There is a new Reason plugin made by a new company "Sononics" and Bob Currie is an admin over there. Coincidence?

edit: yep it's him http://www.linkedin.com/pub/robert-currie/b/b87/9ba  . I think this is maybe a bad thing for Cakewalk users.

Whoa, that guy made some of my favourite stuff, like the producer effects from 8.5. I guess that answers my request for overhauls on those plugs.

I notice that another three (excellent) former Cakewalk employees appear on that page too - Ron, Alex and Samara. Alex is a great guy, and I remember Samara was super-helpful and always went the extra nine yards when I was a regular in the Guitar Tracks and Home Studio forums.

I don't think Bob's departure is particularly significant though. People move on, and new people arrive, it's just the way of things.

Perhaps you'll see X3 bundled with some Sononics effects ?
Funny, their banner says, Sononic, virtual instruments and audio effects but under "products" they only have one synth which is for reason.
No audio effects yet but I guess they'll be along shortly

    Mike,
There are a lot of companies called Cakewalk. LinkedIn probably linked incorrectly to the cakewalk by Roland logo.
Don't you worry about Jan Willem Krooshof.

I have to say that the Rack Extension (a tricked up organ thingy) produced by said person/people is most excellent - I tried it and then I bought it a few minutes later.

    Grum.
