V-Vocal, vocal hic-ups

Hello all,
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I laid some vocals down for a new hip hop track im doing. Everything sounds good, But before I add any type of effects I open V-Vocal up to make it nice and tight. I noticed that when I was editing the vocals there were a few hic-ups. Kinda like drop outs. its really really suttle. Lets say the word he was hitting was in the key of C. The beginning of the word would start 5 notes lower/higher then the actual note he was hitting. It causes a hic-up at the beginning of the word. Ive tried using every tool in V-Vocal to rectify the issue but it wont go away because its such a drastic and abrupt change. Can anyone help? Has anyone ever encountered this before and found ways to fix it. It would be appreciated because Ive been sitting here for hours trying to do it myself and my inexperience is leading me nowhere.

Thanks!!

This sounds like VV can't read the note properly due to a weakish signal.

Try applying a bit of gain to the clip/track before applying VV. Work on a copy of the track, for your own security/peace of mind

Is your track a clean recording, free of bleed & noise?

Thanks for the reply.

At the time of recording I had a half finished vocal booth. So it was not completely ideal. There there was not a door on the booth so that could lead to issues. The booth is finished now and sounds great inside. However, I found that when I pull up V.V and silenced the track, there were some artifacts in the back ground. Almost like fuzz. Its not that bad, but could that lead to a drop out like the one im experiencing? My computer fans are silent, but I do remember having the air conditioner on at time of recording. Newb mistake I know, but How could that lead to the issue I have? There are 3 drop outs throughout the whole song. A couple of them sound like a soft womp. Like if a gust of wind blew across your ear softly.  I havent recorded anything yet after completion of the booth but will test out in the next 2 days to see the difference.

Suggestions would be helpful. Also, Any tricks and methods you guys have when you record Vocals.
Do you record the vocals Hot, or try and level out around 0db before recording, Whats your experience?

Thanks again!
