Help Deleting a section

Lets say I have 2 songs in the same project.
So recorded one then left a minute space and recorded another in the same tracks
Track one tempo is 180
Track two tempo is 200

I want to delete most of the gap in the 1 minute space so that I only have about a 3 second gap between songs.
How do I delete this gap, and maintain the tempo change stays with the 2nd song relative to where it was?

I can delete the tracks, and slide them, but the tempo change does not stay with the 2nd song, it remains where it was so the tempo changed a minute into the 2nd song.

Why not just go to the tempo map and edit ?

OR. . . You can go to the second song and  SELECT ALL - COPY then put the now time marker where you want to put the song (or paste it) Then just select PASTE. Can't remember if copy tempo is a option in the dialog or not but anyhow if it's not, change it to what you want in the tempo map.

No Sonar on this pc but from memory, you can also delete measures to get rid of the gap between songs. But my old memory can't remember the exact proceedure without being in Sonar.

EDIT: Now that I've thought about it, I really can't remember a delete measures command. Insert is easy enough but I think you will need to copy and paste.

Well the issue is more complex. I gave a simple scenario.
For consistancy, I have actually 12 songs in the project.
Did this so recording, applying effects, tweaking would be identical on each track.

Several of my songs in them project have tempo changes in them. So if one tempo gets moved relative to the tracks, it will throw them all off.

And I want to avoid doing temopo view and edit because that tool is a pain to use.

Well try cut and paste and see what the dialog says. Chances are the tempo will come with it. At least look at the dialog box that pops up when pasting. Good luck.

BTW, you just type in the tempo in the tempo map at whatever measure/beat/tic you want it to change - no other tools required.

I have the studio going now. Give me a bit. I keep thinking that there is a DELETE HOLE command somewhere.

Yes, "Delete Hole" is in "Delete Special. If you are trying to delete an area that has nothing in it at all, it might be necessary to put some data in one of the tracks to get the delete options to become available.

Yep just got back to the laptop from the studio and you beat me to it. That's how it's done. Use a midi something or other to give something to delete when deleting hole.
