MIDI-Learn question

Hallo,

some VST-Instruments I use won't receive MIDI-Datam, e.g. Redtron by Artifake Labs. Redtron has a MIDI-learn function implementet. But when I open the instrument in Sonar X1 Studio and try to assign a MIDI-Controler with MIDI-learn, nothing happens. The MIDI-echo of the instrument track is activated and I can play the instrument with the MIDI-Keyboard.

Is there a way to assign an MIDI-controler to such Vst-instruments?

Thanks for your reply.

WRT Redtron SE, I could not get it to work with MIDI cc data. The MIDI learn feature did not work. It also has the ability to directly map a controller which did not work either. There are quite a few, if not all of the features available in the audio track for automation and the synth does respond to automation envelops created that way. I was using the 64bit version of X1 which meant the synth was loaded in BitBridge but I do not believe that is the problem. I did not try the other flavors of Redtron. If you are using a different one, I will test if if you wish but since they are permutations on the same synthedit theme, I would expect that they work the same. BTW, you may get faster and better responses by posting in the SONAR X series forum. This forum is for older versions of SONAR which may behave differently with this synth.
