20 Feet From Stardom

I saw the movie "20 Feet From Stardom" last night and I highly recommend it. The movie tells the story of several backup singers who contributed to many of the iconic hits in recent popular music history. In an era that seems to substitute autotune for talent, it's a pleasure to watch and listen to people who are absolute masters of their craft.

Yeah... the back up singers are often more talented than the one standing in the spotlight.

2 examples are Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood. Both worked as backup singers and in the Nashville demo studios doing song demo's for chump change. There are many many more examples of back up singers who did move to the front of the stage.
