Bouncing Question

Is there a way to bounce a number of tracks to a single track?  For example, when I select 5 tracks and select bounce to track, it bounces to 5 tracks. (I only had a single track to bounce to).... I just want to 5 to bounce to the one....

All you need to do is change your bounce source to the master bus. Yuo do have a master bus? Right??

Otherwise - bounce them to a WAV file an dimport it back in to your project. (pay attention to where you started the bounce from and import back in to the same spot - use "snap to measure")

It's common to have a bussing structure set up, which includes a Master Buss to which all your other tracks feed their outputs into.

This is done either directly at track level or vi a sub-buss such as drums, keys, guitars, vocals etc.

Tracks------------------------->Master Buss
Tracks--------Sub-buss------->Master Buss

The point being that NO track should feed directly to your soundcard/interface/main outs (these are all terms for the same thing)

So continuing the above them, the full routing would be:

Tracks------------------------->Master Buss-------->Main Outs
Tracks--------Sub-buss------->Master Buss-------->Main Outs

Busses can also be used as "Fx Returns" where a given Fx plug inserted into an Fx buss can be used to share it's effect between ant number of track sends

Just remember that YOU have to insert any busses manually - including the Master buss - Sonar won't do it for you

Mute all the tracks but the ones to bounce and use Master bus as the source for the bounced track.

Yeah Scook I got that, but there is no option/s checkbox etc -  I can find that defines using the Master to "bounce from" and "to"

In the Bounce To Track(s) dialog it is the "Source Category" drop down.
