Scarbee Basses
I now have and have been using three of the four Native Instrument Scarbee Basses: Rickenbacker, Jay-Bass (Fender Jazz Bass) and Pre-Bass (Fender Precision Bass).
The Rick is the most expensive, the most deeply sampled, and the one with the most presets and sounds. It is phenomenal and is great when you really want the bass lines to cut through. It also has some aggressive amp sounds along with the clean DI versions. I love its DI stereo setting.
The Jay-Bass, for my style of music, is pretty much the default. Scarbee gives you both standard and slap versions. The Pre-Bass is also excellent. It has a slightly different sound than a J Bass and I use it pretty often.
I just wanted to give you some feedback in case you are shopping. If your budget is limited and you need a good all-around bass guitar, the Jay-Bass for $69 is hard to beat. For personality, the Rick is pretty impressive.
All three handle various articulations: harmonics, hammer-ons, slides, legato, buzz trills, etc.
