Thank you... I will, always do. I've been payin more and more attention to some commercials for some Laser Spine Clinic. We will see but I have a tendency to avoid the blade, the laser I may go for, no hospital. Walk out of the clinic. Hospitals scare the heck out of me, too many infections there (and people who don't listen when you try to tell them that you have a HIGH tolerance for opiates) "here, hon.. this is 2mg of morphine". When am I going to get it? "10 minutes ago". pfffft. I had a heart cath last year. They gave me Valium and Versed... I felt NOTHING. I told them and they ignored me. I still remember the pain of them trying to get a needle into scar tissue in my artery... but they wont listen. I used to be on 90mg of time release morphine and three Vicoprofen every day, then I was on a 5μg per hour of Fentanyl in a patch form plus three vicoprofen a day, changed the patch every 48hours. Now I am just on 5 VP a day, it is a balance between the pain and the drugs. Also take 1 to 2 mg of Klonopin a day, 8mg of Tizanadine, 2 Fioricet, and some days .5 mg Xanax. So I have a high tolerance to most everything. You'd be surprised how much crap you can take and get used to... I have to take 4 vicoprofen at once to kill my pain but I cannot do that every day so I try to find a balance. That is why hospitals and blades scare me so much, again because they don't listen or care. I blame the lawyers and politicians.
..andanoter thing. They did a random pee test on me in June. I just got the bill, it was 2,550.00. Insurance paid some toward the deductable, my portion is 950 bucks... and I am NOT paying that. I have been going to this same doctor for over 10 years and have NEVER failed a drug test. I tell them everything I take. There was/is no reason for them to do such an extensive test. It pi55es me off... makes me wonder if they don't want me as a patient any more and I am going to ask them to just tell me if that is the case... but they are going to have to eat at least 700 bucks of that test or I will pay them 15 bucks a month on it. I am self employed and ever since Obamacare came up my insurance cost has gone up and my benefits have gone down. I guess it was late 2008. The wife and I paid a little over 700 bucks a month for insurance, 2,500 deductable, 80/20, no office copay. They gave us an option of an increased payment or an increased deductable (said nothing else would change). We took the increased deductable, it went to 5k each. About 2 months later we got the same offer, same choice.. it went to 10k each a year in deductable and they putt us on a 70/30 plan with a 40 dollar copay. Then a few months ago they told us that our plan would no longer be offered and we would need to sign up for an "Affordable Care Act" exchange BUT they had no idea yet what our options would be. Last week we got anther letter saying that our plan was still going to be offered but together it was going to cost us another 250 bucks a month. Now... try getting a new drug from them... nope, try something generic. I can usually get it done bit they never just approve it, I have to call and get the doctor to call. I don't know about anyone else but the government has really screwed up OUR insurance... and I don't see any reason to believe that defuding the ACA or repealing it will change a thing for us. We are individuals, we are nothing to them. They don't care about individuals, only about large groups of... VOTERS. Am I cynical, you bet I am.
Well, I am sorry to rant but I guess I needed to. No need to reply, your caring response to my OP was quite nice.
Thank you!!
