X2a Graphic Performance
Hi, Sonars' Gui starts to be sluggish if project is getting bigger. I have no problem with audio but editing can be a big pain when graphic update getting slow. Are there any tweaks to enhance Gui Performance? Windows7 64bit / X2a 64bit 12 GB Ram i7 870 @2.93 2.93 GHz ATI Radeon HD 6510 (Latest driver) Thanks.

You might get better performance if you clear out your picture cache. Sonar will re-create all the necessary images the next time you open a project.

Yup - I do that frequently. Performance also depends on your graphics capabilities. Bob Bone

Agreed. If you have a SSD, you can put the picture cache there.

Yes, I already clear out my picture cache. I think it is time to pay for new video card...

I actually run two monitors out of my on-board graphics, and have no issues. I used to have 2 high-end graphics cards, but one went bad and I gave the other one to somebody who needed one. I wouldn't go overboard on shopping for a new graphics card. Bob Bone

I am currently using my on-board graphics to run 2 display monitors, and have zero problems with doing so. Bob Bone

Since these files are only needed while the project is open, it would be sooo nice if Sonar auto-cleared them when closing the project. Steve

Agreed. But in addition to mentioning it here in the forum it might help to submit a feature request: http://www.cakewalk.com/support/contact/featurerequest.aspx
