Region color shading

A couple good feature requests? - region shading and marker font in timeline

It would be nice if I could shade the verse, chorus, pre-chorus etc... with different colors. I use X2 to also track new songs from the band that we practice and color shading would be nice to give poor old tired eyes a warning when parts change. Either that or allow a sizing of the marker line so that the marker text in the timeline could be read at a distance.

I've done lots of 'lurking' on this forum and finally may be able to help you out. Got this trick from the forum and use it on all projects.
Track 1 I name 'Master Track' and keep it at the top of the TV. Record 1 note of piano. Extend it out a few bars and make a 'groove clip' out of it.
Open Inspector/Clip Properties. Name the 'Clip Name' to what you want, let's say VERSE. I use CAPS to read it easier.Change the color of the Foreground (text) and Background for that clip. Find a combo where the text stands out. Example: Dark red text over light blue background.

Copy groove clip to new section along timeline. Open Clip Properties again, give it a new name (ie CHORUS) and a different color combination. Stretch out as necessary for that section. Copy/Paste for different named parts of the song.
Now at the top of the TV there will be colored clips for each section of the song. Expand vertically as desired for visibility.

Mute the 'Master Track' and turn the volume all the way down in CV.

I also label the Markers for each section V2 (verse 2); C3 (chorus 3) etc.
    Hope that helps.
