Back up against the wall.......
My RAID 1 NAS (2 x 2TB) had a disk crash. It was the boot drive (drive 1 according to the error on the display). It appears, according to Buffalo tech support, that once I replace the drive and format it I'll have the option to rebuild the array. So, as long as drive 2 is not bad my backups will be restored. As a protection, I bought two replacement drives. Did I do good?

For the record, 99% of what I back up is DAW related. All my business stuff is redundant between the home and office computer via dropbox.

So you're at RAID 1/2 now? Or is it just RA?
In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

I tried RAID once, but all it did was kill a few flies. (If you have a redundent setup, does that mean it crashes twice as hard?)
